Let people know what’s happening!

The people looking for your events won’t find them if they’re not listed. Discover how easy it is to put your services and programs where your community is already looking.

You can add worship services, community programs, Bible studies, youth activities, special meetings and other events connected to your church or ministry.

Step 1: Open Your Place

Sign in to Adventist Place and open the church or ministry listing where the event will be held.

Step 2: Go to the Events Section

Select the Events section from your place dashboard.

Here, you can view upcoming events and manage events that have already been added.

Step 3: Create a New Event

Select New to begin adding your event.

Step 4: Enter the Event Name and Summary

Add a clear and specific event name.

For example:

  • Sabbath Worship Service
  • Community Food Pantry
  • Youth Bible Study
  • Family Fun Day
  • Health and Wellness Seminar

Choose a name that helps people quickly understand what the event is about. For the summary, keep it concise and provide the most important details only.

Step 5: Upload an Event Photo

Select Change to upload an event photo, then choose an image from your device.

Use a clear and inviting photo that helps people understand what the event is about. This could be:

  • A photo from a previous event
  • An image of the activity or program
  • A simple promotional graphic
  • A photo of the venue or community

Before uploading, make sure the image is:

  • Clear and properly oriented
  • Relevant to the event
  • Suitable for public viewing
  • Free from incorrect or outdated details
  • Owned by your organisation or approved for use

After uploading, preview the photo to make sure it displays correctly.

Step 6: Add the Date and Time

Enter the event’s start date and time. Add an end time where appropriate.

Check that the correct day, time and time zone have been selected before continuing.

For events that happen regularly, choose the available repeat or recurring option and select how often the event takes place.

Step 7: Confirm the Location

Select the Adventist Place listing where the event will be held or enter the correct event location.

If the event is held in a particular room, hall or entrance, include this information so visitors know where to go.

For online or hybrid events, add the relevant participation details or link where available.

Step 8: Write the Event Description

Add a short description explaining what people can expect.

Include helpful information such as:

  • Who the event is for
  • What will happen
  • What attendees should bring
  • Whether registration is required
  • Accessibility or parking information
  • Any cost involved
  • Contact details for questions

Keep the description clear, welcoming and easy to understand, especially for people who may be visiting for the first time.

Step 9: Add an Event Image

Where available, upload a clear and relevant image that represents the event.

Use an image that is:

  • Easy to understand
  • Suitable for public viewing
  • Free from outdated information
  • Clear and properly sized
  • Owned by your organisation or approved for use

Avoid images containing dates or details that may become incorrect if the event information changes.

Step 10: Add a Registration Link

If attendees need to register, book or purchase a ticket, or more information about the event, add the correct registration link.

Test the link before publishing to make sure it opens the right page and works properly.

Step 11: Review and Publish

Before publishing the event, check the following:

  • Event name/Title
  • Summary
  • Image
  • Date and time (Double check the time zone)
  • Location
  • Description
  • Description
  • Registration link/Website URL
  • Organiser/Contact information

Select Publish, Save or Create Event when all the information is correct.

Step 11: Check the Public Listing

Open the public page for your place and confirm that the event appears correctly.

Make sure visitors can easily understand:

  • What the event is
  • When it is happening
  • Where it will be held
  • How they can attend
  • Who they can contact for help

Keep Your Events Current

Update an event whenever its time, location or other details change. Remove or cancel events that are no longer happening so visitors are not given incorrect information.

Keeping your Events section current helps your community discover opportunities to worship, connect and participate.
